is established since 1994 to provide common Apex forum at the National
level in the field of Biotechnology. Its objective is to coordinate
and assist the research, professional, manufacturing and export
promotion activities in the field of Biotechnology. It also sponsor
study and business teams abroad and invite individuals, experts
and scientists and similar delegations from abroad. Its activity
also includes supporting and collaborating with the existing associations
and organizations like FICCI, CII, ASSOCHAM in their activities
related to Biotechnology field. Other Institutional Member of AIBA

Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE)
is the Indian Biotech Platform. Its objective is to accelerate the
pace of Biotechnology in India by enabling strategic alliances between
researchers, the Government, and the global Biotech industry; Partnering
and acting as a consulting body to the government in its Biotech
endeavor as well as lobbying for conducive policy making and Encouraging
global investment in India's rapidly expanding Biotechnology sector,
facilitating proactive collaborations and partnerships. Other elite

Limited (BCIL), New Delhi
Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) was set up in 1990 as a
public limited company, with the objective of providing the linkages
amongst research institutions, industry, government and funding
institutions, to facilitate accelerated commercialisation of biotechnology.
Promoted by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of
India. BCIL is engaged in technology transfer, project consultancy,
fund syndication, information dissemination and manpower training
and placement related to biotechnology. For technology transfer,
BCIL acts as an interface between technology sources and technology
seekers. Through its publications and the biotechnology club, BCIL
disseminates information relevant to commercial biotechnology to
industries, institutions, universities and entrepreneurs. It also
operates a biotech industrial training and placement programme.
Biotech Consortium India Limited (BCIL) has been conferred a special
award for "Biotech Product and Process Development and Commercialization"
for the year 2001 instituted by the Department of Biotechnology,
Govt. of India, for its outstanding contribution in the area of
technology transfer.
